Friday evening, those who attended our
club-wide meeting received an early announcement of our exciting news
for our club's future.
In February of 2017, the Pella
Soccer Club Board formed an Exploratory Committee of current board
members to study our club status, needs, and direction. Our club has
grown by over 50% in the last eight years alone and we now offer more
programs including our Little Kickers for 5U-8U ages, Winter Academy,
Fall Kickoff Camp, as well as Foot Golf nights, and our select players
and teams continue to grow in numbers. We want to be able to offer you
even more. Right now, our club operates completely through the hard
work and dedication of board members who all have full-time careers and
help the club on the side. The goal for the future of our club is to
continue to offer what we do, with the local commitment and guidance of
our board members, both strategically and operationally, but to also be
able to offer even more, that only the larger soccer clubs with
full-time staff, focus, and synergies are able to offer. After many
meetings and much discussion and agreements, we are excited to announce
the following.
Pella Soccer Club is partnering with Iowa Rush Soccer Club
and will become Iowa Rush Soccer Club - South,
better known as Iowa Rush South!
With this partnership, we will
continue to be our own local smaller club but will be part of something
bigger. By that, we mean that Iowa Rush South will offer everything that we do today, but even more, and we will be a branch of the larger Iowa Rush whose office is located in Ankeny, Iowa. We, as part of Iowa Rush, will also be part of National Rush.
Our Iowa Rush South
players will wear the same Rush uniforms as all Rush players across the
nation and be part of something even bigger. Pella Soccer Club and
Iowa Rush align very closely in beliefs, core values, and coaching, and
as Iowa Rush South, the board here will continue to have control and
guidance locally and will incorporate Iowa Rush Way as we grow and
evolve. Iowa Rush South players and coaches will have opportunities
that include guest playing with other Rush teams in Iowa, or across the
nation, example - if a high school select player wants to be seen by a
college in California, s/he can request to guest play for a Rush team in
California so the college can see him/her in action, after all - they
have the same uniforms and will know how to play the same formations.
Just a few of the other opportunities and advantages will be Online
Coaching Education, TeamSnap - the #1 team communication app to help
teams stay connected in today's fast-moving world, Rush Select, Rush
Fest, College Advisory Program, Iowa Rush College Combine, Iowa Rush
Coach Camps, REACH program to help players in other countries, Iowa Rush
International Tour, Iowa Rush development camps throughout the year,
Iowa Rush EDGE (videos of , Juggle Club, and social media at the Iowa
Rush South, Iowa Rush, and National Rush levels.
For more detail on the above, please go to our Transition to Iowa Rush South webpage under the About Us
menu and view the presentation that was presented Friday evening. We
will be adding to the FAQ section as we move forward. You will continue
to receive periodic emails that will include additional information and
more detail will be added to our Iowa Rush South webpage. Our Spring
2018 soccer season will finish out as Pella Soccer Club and our select
team tryouts scheduled for June will be forming select teams as Iowa
Rush South. Our Fall 2018 soccer season registrations will be as Iowa
Rush South. We hope as you learn more about what this all means, that
you too will share our excitement for the new direction of our club!
