Recreational 9U-19U Detail

Recreational 9U-19U Overview

  1. All practices and games are coached by a volunteer coach (usually a parent of a player). Team practices at these age groups are set by the team coach.  Normal number of practices each week for 9U-19U Rec are two.

  2. Rec Pro Sessions - NEW as Iowa Rush South!

Exciting NEWS for Recreational players!  As Iowa Rush South, Recreational players 9U-19U will have the option to attend sessions that are run by Iowa Rush professional staffing. There will be 3 goalkeeper sessions and 3 field sessions offered per season. These sessions are free, part of your recreational fees; however, you will still have to register your child for these when asked to so that Iowa Rush South and Iowa Rush Central can account for numbers and staffing for those six sessions.

  3. League games are played as a part of the Iowa Soccer Association’s Central League (ISL Level 3). Clubs need to register teams based on player registrations for ISL before the league established date set by Iowa Soccer for each season (spring-early February/fall-late June).  a. ISL then creates and distributes schedules against outside clubs in the local area. b. Games include local travel to different club facilities as well as games at Prairie Ridge.

  • ISL Level 3 Central League has a Guest Player Allowance process that allows coaches to request guest players from other Level 3 Rec teams within our own club, of appropriate age group in situations where they have a low roster of if they know they will be missing certain players for a game.  There are strict rules involved in the process and it is monitored by Iowa Soccer and our own club for any abuse.  More detail to come.

15U-19U TEAMS

In the Fall season, ISL Level 3 Central League offers the following Divisions for teams:

16U full-sided (11v11) -  teams can be girls, boys, or coed

16U small-sided (7v7) on a 12U field - teams can be girls, boys, or coed

19U full-sided (11v11) - teams can be girls, boys, or coed

19U small-sided (7v7) on a 12U field - teams can be girls, boys, or coed

If there are not enough registrations for both a 16U and 19U team, then they are combined and play on the 19U team.  If there are not enough girls and boys to have their own full-sided (11v11) teams, then they may either be combined to be a co-ed team or they will be separate small-sided (7v7) teams.
